PACA’s International Meeting Draws Global Stock Industry Pros

October 21 – 23, 2011  New York, NY – Several hundred stock picture industry professionals from around the world converged on the New York Marriott East Side to learn, mingle and take care of business as PACA staged its 16th International Conference in the Big Apple.  Two solid days of back-to-back seminars gave attendees plenty of opportunities to stay updated on developments in publishing, footage, intellectual property, social media and many other aspects of the picture business.  Meanwhile, the hallways and peripheral rooms were occupied by folks engaged in deal-making and networking, including Stock Answers® CKO Paul H. Henning, who was present on behalf of longtime client Tetra Images.

Talking Stock With Stocki’s Students at MATC

October 11, 2011  Milwaukee, WI – Who says there’s no such thing as a free lunch? Every semester designer Bob Stocki uses a gourmet feast as the bait to lure Stock Answers’ founder Paul H. Henning to the Milwaukee Area Technical College and it worked again this year! Not only is Stocki a veteran professional graphic artist, he’s also a primo instructor in MATC’s Graphic Design program.  Henning addressed an afternoon session of soon-to-graduate seniors, giving them an overview of the history and evolution of the stock picture industry as well as a survey of stock photographic styles.  In addition, he shared some thoughts on the marketplace for stock imagery, the importance of copyright and the significant differences between rights-managed and royalty-free stock to the group of future picture buyers, as well as responding to some very thoughtful questions.  Oh, and that free lunch? MATC not only has terrific design and photography programs, they also have a highly regarded professional cooking and restaurant program which includes running their own gourmet café at the school…highly recommended!

HOW’s Annual Design Extravaganza

June 24, 2011  Chicago IL – For the second consecutive year Stock Answers® CKO Paul H. Henning attended the HOW Design Conference and represented Tetra Images at the all-day Stock Expo.  Last year’s event in Denver was very well attended, but the 2011 edition of the Expo was positively overwhelming, with hordes of “locals” as well as graphic designers from all across the USA and Canada converging on the Windy City.  Elayne Recupero, Barb Klus and the rest of the HOW team do a fantastic job of staging this event, and it was a terrific opportunity to introduce Tetra to a broad spectrum of stock image users.  We’re already looking forward to next year’s Stock Expo in Boston!
